FEARLESS NOTCHED COLLAR
Many sewers avoid tailored jackets because of the challenging collar/lapel area. This area frames the face and becomes the most important focal point of the jacket. The collar must lay flat, roll nicely into the lapel and be dimple free. Spend the day sewing a sample wool half-jacket combining Cecelia's contemporary and traditional techniques to shape the collar and lapel--all without time-consuming hand stitches. See how easy it is to set the collar on the jacket body after it has been properly shaped, sewn, and pressed. Perfect your pressing techniques and you'll be guaranteed a top-notch collar and lapel.

Pre-Show Workshop - September 25
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
THE FEARLESS T-SHIRT
The t-shirt has become a sophisticated and must-have item for today's wardrobe--we all long for one that has the perfect cut. Cecelia's new pattern addresses those fitting concerns and has been designed with a European high-cut underarm, ease in the bust area and extra width across the back shoulders. Bust and hip measurements will aid you in selecting the correct size before you cut and sew the test copy. Further refinements will be made as you fit the t-shirt. Once you have a basic, you can easily change necklines and sleeves. Also learn how to select the right knits for the pattern, especially those with lycra spandex, and how to tweak the pattern to compensate for the degree of stretch in the fabric. The sewing techniques are fast and easy so you can make one for every day of the week!

MORE THAN A T-SHIRT
The versatile T-shirt has become a sophisticated classic. With Ce's new T-shirt pattern as an example you'll gain an understanding of how important it is to select your size and fit according to the degree of stretch in the fabric and the amount of ease in the pattern. Learn how to select the best notions, tools and techniques to help you sew up that perfect T-shirt!

1-Hour Seminar - September 26-27
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
RE-DESIGN YOUR FAVORITE SHIRT
Fast track the design process by starting with a classic shirt pattern that fits. Convert the pattern to a basic block, which can then be used to produce a new look and a new pattern. See how easy it is to use fitting darts to shape the silhouette or to form new seams, gathers or tucks. Add a few well-placed design details such as yokes, pleats, pockets, cuffs, concealed front plackets, two-piece or 3/4 sleeves, etc., and you have a new shirt pattern. Best of all, you retain the same great fit of the original pattern!
